A Japanese over-the-counter topical cream from Ikeda Mohando's Muhi line. It contains the topical corticosteroid prednisolone valerate acetate together with diphenhydramine and lidocaine. Supplied in a 15 g tube.

Indications

Insect bites, itching, eczema, dermatitis, rashes from irritation (kabure), hives, heat rash. Contains an antedrug-type steroid (PVA).

Ingredients & form

Cream for external use (tube). 100 g contains:
- Prednisolone valerate acetate (PVA) 0.15 g (antedrug-type anti-inflammatory steroid)
- Diphenhydramine hydrochloride 1.0 g (antihistamine)
- l-Menthol 3.5 g (cooling)
- dl-Camphor 1.0 g (cooling)
- Crotamiton 5.0 g (relieves itching)
- Isopropylmethylphenol 0.1 g (antiseptic)
Additives: sodium edetate, carboxyvinyl polymer, stearyl alcohol, glyceryl triisooctanoate, 1,3-butylene glycol, polysorbate 60, diisopropanolamine, sodium hydrogen phosphate.

Dosage

Apply an appropriate amount to the affected area several times a day.
Precautions related to dosage:
(1) Children should use it only under the supervision of a guardian; as a guide, it can be used from 6 months of age.
(2) Keep away from the eyes. If it gets into the eyes, rinse at once with water or lukewarm water; if symptoms are severe (persistent redness or pain, watering that does not stop), see an eye doctor.
(3) For external use only; do not take internally.
A doctor's instructions prevail.

Warnings

Do not use:
1. Do not apply to chickenpox, athlete's foot, ringworm or festering areas.
2. Do not use over large areas of the face.
3. Do not use continuously for a long time (as a guide, no more than 2 weeks on the face and 4 weeks elsewhere).
Consult a doctor, pharmacist or registered seller before use if you:
- are under a doctor's care;
- are pregnant or may be pregnant;
- have ever had an allergic reaction (rash/redness, itching, irritation, etc.) to any medicine;
- have a large affected area;
- have severe weeping or sores.
Stop use at once and consult a doctor, pharmacist or registered seller, bringing this leaflet, if after use:
- skin: rash/redness, itching, swelling, irritation, dryness, a stinging or hot sensation;
- treated area: fungal infection (athlete's foot, ringworm), acne, festering, persistent irritation.
If symptoms do not improve after 5–6 days of use, stop use and consult a doctor, pharmacist or registered seller, bringing this leaflet.
Insect bites: clean the area before applying and do not scratch (it can worsen symptoms or leave marks).

Storage

(1) Store tightly closed in a cool place with little humidity, away from direct sunlight.
(2) Keep out of the reach of children.
(3) Do not transfer to another container (this may cause misuse or change the quality).
(4) Do not use after the expiry date (year and month on the case and the tube); once opened, use as soon as possible even within the expiry date.
