Description
This medication primarily stimulates insulin secretion by acting on the pancreas. It is commonly used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Dosing schedule/Directions
Your dosing schedule must be prescribed by your doctor or a healthcare professional.
In general, the initial dose is started with 0.5-1 tablet (0.5-1mg of the active ingredient) daily. Take tablets once a day (before or after breakfast), or take tablets twice a day (before or after meals both in the morning and in the evening). The maintenance dosage is 1-4 tablets (1-4mg). The dosage may be adjusted as necessary. But daily dosage should not exceed 6 tablets (6mg). Strictly follow the instructions.
If you miss a dose, take a dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.
Warnings
Before starting this medication, inform your doctor and pharmacist if you:
- Have previously experienced allergic reactions (e.g., itching, rash) to any medicines or foods.
- Have conditions such as ketosis, diabetic coma, precoma, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, liver or kidney dysfunction, infections, injuries, or gastrointestinal disorders (e.g., diarrhea, vomiting).
- Are undergoing or have recently had surgery.
- Are pregnant, might be pregnant, or are breastfeeding.
- Are taking any other medicinal products, including over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements, as they may interact with this medication.
Precautions While Taking This Medication
- Avoid working at heights or driving, as hypoglycemia may increase the risk of accidents.
- Carry a card identifying yourself as a diabetic patient.
- If you experience hypoglycemia, consume sugar or glucose. If you are taking an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor (e.g., miglitol, acarbose, or voglibose) and experience hypoglycemia, use glucose for treatment.
Possible Adverse Reactions
Common adverse reactions include hypoglycemia or symptoms of hypoglycemia, nausea, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, abdominal pain, rash, and dizziness. If you experience any of these symptoms, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Rare but Serious Symptoms
If you experience any of the following symptoms, stop taking the medication and consult your doctor immediately:
- Hypoglycemia: Weakness, severe hunger, sweating
- Hemolytic Anemia: Fatigue, shortness of breath, pallor
- Agranulocytosis: Sore throat, fever, muscle pain
- Pancytopenia/Thrombocytopenia: Anemia symptoms (e.g., generalized fatigue, palpitations), bleeding tendencies (e.g., nasal bleeding), fever
- Liver Dysfunction/Jaundice: Generalized fatigue, nausea, yellowing of the skin or eyes
These symptoms do not cover all possible adverse reactions. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you notice any other concerning symptoms.
Storing Conditions
Keep out of the reach of children. Store away from direct sunlight, heat and moisture.
Do not store the remainder and consult your pharmacy or medical institution how to discard it.
