Description
This medicine suppresses uric acid production in the body and decreases the amount of uric acid in the blood. It is usually used to improve hyperuricemia in patients with gout or hypertension accompanied by hyperuricemia.
Ingredients and dosage form
white to pale yellowish white tablet, diameter 6.5mm, thickness 3.0mm
Dosing schedule/Directions
Your dosing schedule must be prescribed by your doctor or a healthcare professional.
In general, for adults, take 4 to 6 tablets (200 to 300 mg of the active ingredient) a day, in 2 to 3 divided doses after meals. The dosage may be adjusted according to the disease, age or symptoms. Strictly follow the instructions.
Gout attack (pain) may be temporarily intensified when you start taking this medicine. However, do not change the dose or stop taking this medicine on your own unless your doctor instructs you to do so. If such a symptom occurs, consult with your doctor.
If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and follow your regular dosing schedule. You should never take two doses at one time.
If you accidentally take more than your prescribed dose, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor instructs you to do so.

If you have previously experienced any allergic reactions (itch, rash, etc.) to any medicines.

Precautions while taking this medicine
Try to drink plenty of water to increase urine volume unless you have heart or renal disorder.
Possible adverse reactions to this medicine
The most commonly reported adverse reactions include rash, itch, joint pain, anemia, purpura, lymphadenopathy, abnormal renal function, loss of appetite, stomach discomfort, loose stool, diarrhea, general malaise and depilation. If any of these symptoms occur, consult with your doctor or pharmacist.
The symptoms described below are rarely seen as initial symptoms of the adverse reactions indicated in brackets. If any of these symptoms occur, stop taking this medicine and see your doctor immediately.
fever, general malaise, erythema [serious skin disorder such as toxic epidermal necrolysis, muco-cutaneo-ocular syndrome or dermatitis exfoliative, or hypersensitivity vasculitis]
rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes [drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome]
respiratory distress, dizziness, loss of consciousness [shock, anaphylaxis]
anemic symptoms, fever, bleeding tendency [blood disorder such as aplastic anemia]
general malaise, vomiting, yellow discoloration of the skin [serious hepatic dysfunction such as hepatitis fulminant, jaundice]
